Do you need Microsoft Fabric as well as Power BI?
Not always. Power BI on its own is often the right answer for a focused requirement with manageable data volume and a small number of sources. Fabric becomes useful when the data foundation, not only the reporting layer, needs to change.

Do we need Microsoft Fabric before starting Power BI?
No. Power BI can connect directly to an ERP, CRM or other source when the requirement is simple enough. Fabric is more likely to be justified for multi-source, multi-company, high-volume or governance-heavy reporting, or when the same platform must also support data engineering, machine learning or AI.
Can you connect Power BI to our ERP or finance system?
Yes. Hopton works with systems including Dynamics 365 Business Central, Sage, NetSuite, SAP and Salesforce, as well as databases, spreadsheets and APIs. Discovery confirms the available interfaces, data quality and extraction pattern before the build is committed.
